![]() 21 Prominent Chinese Enterprises, Including Show Chwan Medical, COMEBUY, and Xiangpu, Receive the Highest Entrepreneurship Honors in 2021 The organizing body, the National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Association, has revealed that despite the ongoing global economic recovery following the pandemic's impact, both domestic and overseas participation in nominations reached a record high this year. Particularly, the number of overseas participants and winners has surged, with a total of 11 domestic and 10 overseas entrepreneurs eventually being selected as entrepreneurship models. Since its inception in 1978, this selection event has honored 686 individuals, including 467 from Taiwan and 219 from overseas. Among the 21 entrepreneurship models recognized this year are globally recognized leaders such as Ubitus Technology, a pioneer in telecom white box solutions; Xiangpu Industrial, an innovative Taiwanese agricultural and food enterprise; COMEBUY, a prominent domestic chain of tea beverage brands; Jinyuanfu, Asia's largest plastic vacuum forming container manufacturer; Show Chwan Health System, the most prestigious private healthcare system in Taiwan; Kuo Wei Precision, the world's largest knife manufacturer; and Yong Hong International Biotechnology, Taiwan's leading animal pharmaceutical company. Furthermore, the list includes innovative companies like Rich-Tai Technology, TangYa, Daji Auto, and Qiding Technology. From the United States, there are notable names such as Kizuki International, a Japanese ramen chain; Adesso, the third-largest computer peripheral equipment manufacturer in the United States; and Ethan Allen, a renowned furniture retailer. Representing Vietnam are Buildmax Industrial and Kim Bien, while Thailand is represented by Thai President Holdings and Lian Yu Gas Industrial. Malaysia has East Chess and SJ Group on the list, and Japan is represented by Toho Trading. These enterprises are exemplars in various global industries, demonstrating the solid innovation and management capabilities of this year's awardees. Before the award ceremony, President Tsai Ing-wen, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Economic Affairs Chen Cheng-chi, Chairman of the Overseas Community Affairs Council Tong Chen-yuan, and Vice Chairman of the National Development Council Gao Xian-gui specially met with and encouraged all the award winners. They discussed topics related to entrepreneurship, innovation, economic development, and investment environments, seeking the best paths and solutions for mutually beneficial cooperation between the government and businesses. Premier Su Tseng-chang, after presenting the Entrepreneurship Model and Entrepreneurship Mutual Aid awards, stated, "The selection of entrepreneurship models not only shapes and spreads the benefits of recognizing talent but also reflects the spirit of contributing to others. Awardees actively contribute to themselves to benefit others, assist the government in promoting various innovation and entrepreneurship policies, wholeheartedly give back to society, and implement corporate ESG social responsibility. They are indeed role models for enterprises." Premier Su also expressed his gratitude to this year's 21 awardees for their outstanding performance in business operations. He hopes that they will continue to adapt to the times and operate sustainably. He looks forward to their cooperation with the government in revitalizing the economy, strengthening Taiwan's position globally, and making even greater contributions to the country and society. Since assuming office as Chairman of the National Innovation and Entrepreneurship Association, Chairman Chen Ching-kang has actively incorporated ESG principles into the association's operations and the selection and evaluation of entrepreneurship models. He has also been committed to promoting the comprehensive digitization of application guidelines, nomination documents, and scoring processes, aligning with environmental protection and achieving the final mile of a fully digitized selection mechanism. The 21 entrepreneurship models selected this year not only achieved remarkable success in their respective fields but also developed comprehensive ESG blueprints for their businesses, demonstrating tangible benefits resulting from their long-standing commitment to corporate social responsibility and deep-rooted ESG principles and actions. |
