On May 11th, the Chinese American Parent Association (CAPA) of Walnut High School held a grand annual scholarship award ceremony and fundraising event in Walnut City. Asian entrepreneur Gu Shaolun, adhering to the principle of giving back to society what society has given him, generously donated $10,000 as scholarships for outstanding students. His generous gesture aims not only to inspire these students to work harder but also hopes they will give back to the community in the future, becoming caring and responsible individuals and passing on this kindness to more people.

Former Mayor of Walnut City and founder of the Walnut School District Chinese American Parent Association, Su Wang Xiulan, introduced Asian entrepreneur Gu Shaolun at the event, stating that Gu Shaolun is the chairman of ADESSO and also the president of the Diamond Bar Chinese Association. He has been widely recognized for his contributions to schools and communities over the years, making numerous donations to schools, non-profit organizations, and other institutions annually. On that day, he generously donated to our Walnut High School Chinese American Parent Association. This is not his first generous donation; last year, he also donated $20,000 to Walnut High School. This year, he donated to Diamond Bar High School as well. Every year, he donates to our non-profit organizations. Today's event, we accepted his donation, appreciating his generosity. The donated funds will be distributed as scholarships to outstanding students. We hope these scholarships will help them excel academically and inspire them to achieve greater success in the future. This is not only a recognition of their personal efforts but also an affirmation of their positive contributions to the community and school. We believe that with the support of these scholarships, they will be able to better realize their dreams and make more meaningful contributions to society, becoming responsible individuals.

At the event, Gu Shaolun introduced his original intention of giving back to society. He said that he had been busy for half his life, working almost twelve hours a day, seven days a week without rest. However, a few years ago, he fell ill, which made him reflect on the meaning of life and realize his responsibility to give back to society. This experience made him cherish life more and understand more deeply the importance of giving back to society. Therefore, he decided to establish the Adesso non-profit foundation in early 2020, aiming to donate scholarships to the school district. During the pandemic, he also actively donated anti-epidemic materials to schools and medical institutions, contributing to the fight against the epidemic.

Gu Shaolun emphasized at the meeting, "I hope these donations (scholarships) can help these outstanding students better complete their studies and inspire them to achieve greater success in the future. This is not only a recognition of their personal efforts but also an affirmation of their positive contributions to the community and school. We hope that they will give back to the community in the future, become caring and responsible individuals, and pass on this kindness to more people.

Gu Shaolun also emphasized his hope that students can deeply understand the knowledge and skills taught by the school while realizing that entering society requires more practical abilities and a good work attitude. "I hope everyone understands that although the skills taught by the school are important, practical workplace experience and a good work attitude are equally important. After graduation and entering society, their professional experience and diligence will be the key to success. Therefore, we hope that students will study hard, and if they need help, our company is willing to provide support. Our company is located in Walnut City and welcomes students to come for internships.

At the same time, we have also established an innovation center, which gathers experts from various fields to help children explore their future paths and gain a deeper understanding of the characteristics and requirements of different industries. In addition, we are willing to assist overseas companies, whether in business expansion, market promotion, or other aspects, we are willing to provide support and assistance.

Also present at the event was Walnut City Councilor Wu Lilun, who congratulated each award recipient and thanked Gu Shaolun for his contribution to the community. In an interview, he said, "The Chinese American Parent Association of Walnut High School has been established for many years, and my child and I have also joined the association. Supporting our Walnut High School Parent Association is an extremely important task. One of the main purposes of establishing the Walnut High School Parent Association is to promote communication between the school and parents, especially for our Chinese students and parents, helping them communicate better with the school after entering a country with a different culture. Nowadays, our Chinese students and parents have become the main group in the school, and the Chinese Parent Association plays a very important role in the school."

Xu Hong, president of the Walnut High School Chinese American Parent Association, stated that the association selects several outstanding students every year to provide scholarships to them. This year, special thanks to Gu Shaolun's donation, so the Parent Association can continue its annual scholarship activities. This year's award recipients include graduating seniors such as Chen An, He Neiqingxiang, Sun Tianze, Deng Zhongran, Wang Yifan, Yang Hao, etc. In addition to encouraging students with excellent academic performance, the most important thing about scholarships is leadership, contributions to the community, and setting a good example for other students.

At the meeting, Xu Hong, president of the Walnut High School Chinese American Parent Association, and Su Wang Xiulan, founder of the Walnut School District Chinese American Parent Association, introduced the efforts made by the association to help new Chinese immigrants integrate into the community quickly and support children's growth. The association's volunteer activities include international dragon boat races, environmental clean-up, technology competitions, animal protection, mentoring older adults to teach children to learn, and painting, among other aspects. These activities not only provide opportunities for new Chinese immigrants to integrate into the community but also provide children with rich and colorful growth experiences, helping them discover their interests in different fields. Founder Su Wang Xiulan emphasized that nowadays children often spend a lot of time playing games after school, especially during the pandemic. This is not conducive to their growth and development. In order to help children better integrate into community life, we provide a variety of activities to prevent them from being lonely and immersed in the gaming world. We do not want children to be addicted to games but hope they can participate in group activities and develop a sense of teamwork. Teamwork is crucial for their future development, as it can help them learn to interact with others, including communicating with superiors and colleagues. Through teamwork, we are also cultivating leadership skills in children, teaching them to contribute to society. In addition to learning textbook knowledge, we also provide diverse activities such as technology projects, painting, and music courses, allowing children to learn according to their interests. Most importantly, we hope to help children build confidence, cultivate leadership skills, and learn to communicate with various sectors of society, becoming beneficial individuals to society, the country, and their families. Dr. Bob Taylor, Superintendent of the Walnut School District, emphasized that the Chinese American Parent Association's annual donations and assistance to the school district and schools cannot be expressed in words. We sincerely thank the Chinese American Parent Association for their contributions to school teachers and students.

The students who received teaching awards all delivered speeches, thanking the association for their support and encouragement, especially thanking Gu Shaol
