The purpose of the event was to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, promote Chinese culture, and provide an opportunity for friends from various ethnic backgrounds to gain a deeper understanding of the richness and traditional charm of Chinese culture. Attendees included Diamond Bar Mayor Liu Xulin, Vice Mayor Deng Jiayou, Walnut Valley School District Board Member Tong Yi, Superintendent Robert P. Taylor, Diamond Bar High School Principal David Hong, President of the North American Chinese Accountant Association Zhang Qing, former Diamond Bar Mayor Zhang Wenbin, Executive Director of the Huamei Innovation Center Wang Kangxi, and President of the news agency Liu Zhuo. Li Minni, President of the Diamond Bar Chinese Association and a board member of the Walnut Valley Water District, remarked, “This year's Mid-Autumn Festival event is rich in content, featuring business displays, food stalls, and various fun games. We are also very pleased to collaborate with Diamond Bar High School to plan this event. Through such activities, we hope to continue the tradition of family reunions during the Mid-Autumn Festival and bring a warm festive atmosphere to everyone.” Mayor Liu Xulin stated, “The Mid-Autumn Festival is one of the most important traditional holidays for Chinese people, symbolizing reunion and representing family harmony. This festival holds great significance for our families and is an integral part of our culture and values. Additionally, the Mid-Autumn Festival occurs in the fall, a traditional harvest season. At this time, we should be grateful for the blessings of the year and express our joy through reunion and celebration.” Vice Mayor Deng Jiayou emphasized, “The city government strongly supports cultural activities like this every year, especially traditional Chinese celebrations such as the Mid-Autumn Festival. We hope these events will pass on excellent Chinese culture to the next generation, ensuring that this beautiful tradition continues. We also place great importance on the cultural heritage of all ethnic groups. The city government will continue to support these activities, allowing more people to experience the warmth of family reunions and the charm of culture.” Diamond Bar High School Principal David Hong expressed, “I would like to extend special thanks to the Diamond Bar Chinese Association for hosting the Mid-Autumn Festival fair at our school and for their generous donations. The collaboration between our school and the association has been an honor over the years. We also appreciate the association’s Chinese school for providing Chinese language courses for children on our campus. Thank you for your ongoing support and contributions.” Walnut School District Board Member Tong Yi noted, “Holding the Mid-Autumn Festival fair here is very meaningful, as it not only promotes our traditional Chinese culture, especially during the Mid-Autumn Festival, but also helps our community better understand the integration of Chinese people here. Thanks to the efforts of the Chinese Association, more students are learning about traditional Chinese culture. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to President Gu Shaolun of the Diamond Bar Chinese Association for the generous donation to Diamond Bar High School. The association has made many contributions through various fundraising efforts.” During the event, a representative of the current president of the Diamond Bar Chinese Association presented a $20,000 check to Diamond Bar High School, which will be used for a large LED screen on the school's sports field. According to the organizers, the fair featured a rich variety of activities and attracted a large number of residents. In addition to traditional foods like candied hawthorn and everyday items, local organizations such as the American Abacus Association, VEX Robotics Competition, Huaxing Insurance, AIFG, ACG Funding, and TACF Community Safety provided information to the public. |
